A taste of England in Nursery

The youngest children at school are aged from 1- to 3 years old.  This time had a set of activities for themselves, with activities and curriculum adjusted to their age.
Teaching assistant Randi went to England and came back with many ideas for her group of children. The activity week is the beginning of experimenting on  some of these ideas in nursery. Here are a few of the things the youngest learners did on their "A taste of England"-week.

"In morning assembly we sang" Row your boat", counted to 3 in English and learned the colours red, white and blue. Then we looked at the flags from UK and Norway, found shapes and similarities."

The children were then split into groups, which rotated in 3 different activities.
1: Baking scones

2: Painting tulips
Our inspiration for this task came from our visit to Wingate Nursery, where very young learners painted fruit. Our children painted  a tulip.  The results were great!

3: Secret Garden, Learning trail outdoors.
Our secret garden trail was on the playground. Different activities were marked with UKs´ and Norway´s flags, and the children were given different tasks on these posts.

Observing flowers. What colour are the flowers?
But the older childrens´singing game was also interesting......

Collecting stones

 Looking for creepers.
